About KNPHI
The Kenya National Public Health Institute (KNPHI) was established under Legal Notice No. 14 of January 2022 as a semi-autonomous government institution mandated to strengthen Kenya's public health system. It serves as the National Focal Point for the International Health Regulations (2005), coordinating public health emergency preparedness, analytics, response, resilience, and research. KNPHI works in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment, county governments, academia, research institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, and the private sector to safeguard the health security of Kenyans and the region.
